Wow... It's been a long time since I gave you guys an update, huh? Here's a few things that have happened since I last posted, in handy dot point form!

- My dad moved out on October 19 to go to Thailand. He's been calling and sounds generally happy, which I guess is a plus. We're all kinda managing okay. I'm actually kind of surprised how well I'm going. There have been a few days where I just want to crawl under my bed and never come out but mostly I'm okay. Most of the people at work and keep checking up on me, which is nice. Me and my brother are going over to visit him in January, which yeah, I'm not complaining about a free holiday!
- I've finished most of my assessment for this semester (except exams which are in a couple of weeks). I've actually done surprisingly well on most of them so I'm not too worried about that.
- My writing class has finished for the semester and it makes me sadface because it's the most bludgey, awesome class in the world. Basically it's just two hours of talking about dorky things with other socially awkward people. Yay!
- I gave blood for the second time today and almost passed out right at the end despite being fine the first time I donated. LOLIAMSUCHAWUSS.
- Going out with a few friends from work tomorrow night to have dinner then go to a show one of their sister's boyfriend's bands is doing. It's kinda nice having an actual social life \o/
- I have the new Angels & Airwaves album - Love: Part Two. OMG it's amazing. Favourites are Surrender and Behold A Pale Horse

Hellooo! So tomorrow I'm off to Sydney to see Owl City at the Metro, which should be interesting considering I'm going alone! I'm not going to lie - I'm freaking out about it BUT I figure that if there's any good place to be alone, it's a show. Just need to find someone to hang with for the night and I'll be fine (yay going into it with a positive attitude \o/). I'm not going to promise a recap because we all know how reliable I am with those... :/

Uni is also back now so hopefully I'll feel a little less like a social recluse now that I actually have to interact with people on a daily basis instead of going days at a time without even leaving the house. HOPEFULLY.

Dudes, I just got home from the HP7 part 2 midnight premiere. I can't even. The whole cinema was sobbing loudly for pretty much the entire second half of the film. My friends were crying for half an hour after it finished. It's like my childhood is finally over now that there's no more HP to wait for ;_____;

Hello everyone, remember me? I'm that girl who went to Morocco and said she'd post updates about it every few days. Yeah, that was obviously a lie since tomorrow is our last full day here (2.5 weeks went so quickly omg!) and I haven't even given you guys a heads up on what I'm actually doing. I swear to god there will be a recap once I get home, though. I've been taking loads of photos and keeping a journal and everything so there's no excuse not to do a recap. Anyway, basically it's been amazing and I really just want to stay here for at least another week, specifically where I am right now (Essaouira) because it's gorgeous and beachy and not hot like the rest of the country.

So yeah, not sure where the last two weeks went but I'm heading home the day after tomorrow. I'm mainly just looking forward to seeing my caaaats. There are so many over here and they're all so skinny and I just want to pick them up and cuddle them and give them something to eat.

I really have to stop reading things about animal cruelty. It kind of ruins my good mood. Anything even vaguely resembling cruelty to animals will stay with me for the next week, I swear. I'm far too sensitive.

Anyway, today I had one of my writing tutorials and it was excellent as always. We had to write 500 words of creative non-fiction about something we've experienced and my tutor read it and told me that he thought it was excellent for something that was written in 15 minutes. I love the occasional ego boost :D We also had a lecture for the same class from Melina Marchetta, the woman who wrote 'Looking For Alibrandi', and it was really interesting and inspiring. I want to be a writer, you guys!

Nothing else to tell you, really. My life is sooo boring right now. It's pretty much just work and uni. That's it. I've also been writing a lot and thanks to today, I currently feel pretty good about something that will probably never be read by another pair of eyes.

No, really, that's it. This was hardly worth making a whole new post :P

I saw it had been leaked the other day but I was like eh, I'll buy it when I'm next near a music shop. But I gave in and I'm listening right now and omg, you guys, I love iiiiit!

Guys, there was soooo much rain tonight while I was at work and the cyclone is thousands of kms north of here D: We had to move people inside because the wind was so strong that it was making the rain go sideways into people's dinners so I can't even imagine how bad it is up there right now. There's a story coming out of some town there where there are 6 elderly people trapped in an apartment block where they're expecting flooding up to the floor of the 2nd storey. Please keep everyone in Queensland in your thoughts, god knows they've been through enough in the last two months.

Just a quick (and somewhat obnoxious) 'Happy Australia Day!' to the Australians among you! I just got home from an awesome bbq with a bunch of friends, filled with water fights, rude Scrabble (we used the whole set of letters, okay? Twice!) and listening to the top 100. I hope you all had an amazing day and weren't as annoyed as one of my friends was to hear that Angus & Julia Stone got number 1. And by annoyed I mean that he just thinks they have other songs that are better than the one that got number 1.

This is just another post about the floods going on down here. I'm sure most people would have heard by now what's going on in Queensland but if you haven't, they're saying that they are currently experiencing some of the worst floods in the state's history. At the moment, 78 people are missing and 10 people have already died and the QLD premier is saying that the toll could double, if not more. There's an appeal here where you can donate if you want to help out. Even small amounts help immensely in times like this. If you want to know more, here is a link.

What's up, LJ? Just dropping by to let you know that I'm still here... sort of. I've been super busy with uni and exams and it was right now that my body decided to get sick to the point where I can't talk without having to follow every word with an attack of coughing. The family isn't too impressed either.

Not much else is new except MCR's new album, which, yeah. Love it! It's been on repeat on itunes and in my car for the last week. My favourites are Kids, Only Hope, Planetary (GO!) and Bulletproof Heart. I love how each song is so different from the next and yeah, it's a massive leap for them, but I think it's awesome. I also love how much happier they all seem in interviews, like in the behind-the-scenes of the Spin cover shoot. They're all so smiley and joking and just. I love it, I love the album and I love them. The end.

...yeah, that's basically it. Happy Thanksgiving (belated, I know) to all you people who celebrate it. We don't here but I'm still so so so thankful for you guys ♥ x a million!

In other news, tonight I might finally get my ass into gear and finally post that Cobra recap I promised you all a billion weeks ago.

My cat is also currently at the vet and most likely going to have to stay overnight because they think she has some kind of infection, which has resulted in her being locked out of the house for the past two nights which makes me very sad. She's ridiculously spoilt and it's getting a lot colder at night now (probably not even cold by the rest of the world's standards, but cold for here anyway) and there are some mean neighbourhood cats around. She's been in about three cat fights in the last two nights alone, even though I set a sort-of-bed up for her in the shed and told her to stay in there. She's a stupid cat though, so she slept out in the open.

So yeah, long time no update. And sorry for hardly commenting on anyone's posts recently. Lately, I either haven't been in the mood to comment or I've just been uncharacteristically super busy with work and uni and an actual social life :D :D

Valentine's Day always seems to be really underwhelming for me every year - I'll get a rose from my boss and maybe one or two from friends but never anything that actually counts.

BUT. Last night I got home from work (with my rose lol) and saw that a guy I haven't spoken to in at least 2 years and who used to be one of my best friends had added me on facebook (I know, I know). This is a guy that, the last time I spoke to him, accused me of being rude because I was with a couple of my other friends who didn't know him and, instead of giving him all the attention, I also spoke to the friends I was with, which apparently qualifies as rude. Said guy then proceeded to stop talking to me for 2 years and I eventually gave up trying to contact him.

Anyway, I add guy (okay, his name is Jack) back on facebook because, you know, I miss him, even after 2 years. He promptly starts a chat and we, yeah, chat for a while about shit that's been happening. He then asks if it's okay if he comes over so we can talk for a while. I say he can so he gets here at around 1AM and we sit outside my house just talking for a while. We went for a drive as well, to his house, and on the way there, the topic turns to Valentine's Day and I mention that I didn't have a Valentine. He then asked if I'd settle for him and, being me, who's had something of a crush on him since I met him, I said yes. So he pulled over and picked a rose off one of his neighbour's bushes to give to me and we drove around for a bit longer and eventually he dropped me back home.

I don't even care that it was really just a friends thing. It just meant so much after 2 years of nothing, because I really have had something for him since I first met him and he's a ridiculously nice and polite guy, which just seems like such a rare thing, especially in most guys my age, who all act like either morons or douchebags, or both. So yeah, the whole thing just made my day.

The Killers have cancelled their Australian tour with the Good Vibrations Festival. They were also playing a separate Sydney show which me my mum were trying to get tickets to as a consolation for Soundwave but we missed out because it literally sold out in seconds. WTAF, universe?

So my Soundwave ticket is officially up for sale. I decided it wasn't worth going alone if MCR wasn't going to be there, because the two people who were thinking about going are both busy that day. I was willing to go alone just to see MCR but now that they've dropped out, I've decided I don't want to spend an entire day at a festival by myself. I eventually just told dad to sell it for me so I didn't have to because it's kind of painful selling the ticket to something you were so excited about for the last 6 months. However, I am now considering going to Cobra Starship + Owl City in March with a friend who might actually come through for me. I think it will be a good replacement, because I'm pretty much in love with Owl City at the moment and I'd love to see Cobra Starship at one of their own shows.

Other news... I started uni on Monday and I think just saying that will take some time to get used to. I'm doing the B.Sc. in Psych and majoring in Counselling Studies. I'm also doing Media Arts as an elective and, from the introductory lecture the other day, it sounds rather awesome and totally what I'm interested in. Part of the ongoing assessment is to take a photo each week based on the week's topic and put it up on flickr for feedback. The professor also put a quiz up on one of the uni's intranet type sites and one of the questions was 'Have you ever played WoW?' Am I excited? Yeah, a little :D

Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck. It was supposed to be some stupid rumour going around the forums. It wasn't supposed to be true, you guys DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD:

Jsyk, this is in reference to MCR dropping out of Soundwave. I'm tempted to sell my ticket now, which is ridiculous but I could really use the money.

Attacking Pete over his vague statement is both an over-reaction and kind of selfish, tbh. Lol hell, I didn’t even know they were on an indefinite hiatus until today and I’m not freaking out. My rock, it is large.

I got home this afternoon. A day early, yes, but I'm too tired from driving to write a proper post/explanation for why I'm home early right now. There will hopefully be some kind of recap in the next few days.
